How to Create a Work Calendar

I have been consistently doing research related to my original work project a couple days a week, but now that my research plan has come together, I know I’ll feel more comfortable spending more time researching without worrying about my research being relevant. Now that I have created a work schedule to keep me on track for my original work, I know exactly what to research and how long I have to research it. I’m giving myself about a week or two per section of research, and I know this will be an adequate amount of time to learn what I need for my final report. By setting deadlines for myself, keeping track of my progress in a spreadsheet, and writing down summaries for every time I log my original work hours, I am able to stay productive and on track.
My mentorship is also keeping on track. I typically meet with my mentor every other week, but as I get into the routine of working consistently, I’ll start scheduling meetings every week instead. I think it’s important to continue getting frequent input from my mentor, as simple online research will not give me as much knowledge into the practicality of the solutions I research as my mentor’s personal experience will.
